My family and I are on a very tight budget. However, we still try to have a good time when we are saving money. I guess my favorite money saving tip is making up our own popcorn to take to the movies. It is so expensive to get into the movies these days!! Add movie popcorn on top of that, and it gets pretty outrageous. My kids like to use Jiffy Pop (they like watching it pop on the stove). Does anybody else do this?
We usually bring our own candy and soda. We save the popcorn for movies at home. I agree that it is so expensive to go to the movies, though we are lucky and have a $1.50 theater here. Of course we have to wait a bit longer to see the movies we want, but it is worth it. Of course if we were to purchase snacks at the theater it would cost the same as going to a regular theater - the stuff costs twice as much at the cheap theater!
